About Fik-Shun

Season 10 Winner, So You Think You Can Dance

Fik-shun “De-Shaunt Stegall” was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas. Fia-Shun got his start in dancing by watching YouTube. “ I would watch other street dancers do their thing and figure out how I could mimic them…and throw a little of that into my own style.” During his junior and senior years of high school, Fik-Shun attended the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts where he gained his basic dance training and was known for his hip-hop style.

Most influential in his dance life was meeting his inspiration, Dextral “Kidd Stylez” Eaviance Fletcher. As a duo, the two teamed up to become street performers on the Las Vegas strip. At 16, he appeared on Paula Abdul’s show “Live to Dance” before he went on to win Season 10 of So You Think You Can Dance. Three years later he was named “America’s Favorite Dancer.”

He has been described as a “polite young man with a winning smile who could do it all!” To his family in Wichita, Fik-Shun has been a “winner all his life.”

When asked what advice he can offer youth, Fik-Shun says, “Go for your dreams, no matter how unattainable they seem. Give 100 percent and don’t let anything stop you. And be yourself throughout your journey. People will notice you for being you. Dream big and live it up.
